SensĹŤ-ji is known for its iconic entrance gate called the Kaminarimon, or “Thunder Gate.” The gate is adorned with a massive red lantern and features two imposing statues—one of the Buddhist god of wind and thunder, and the other of the Buddhist god of protection.
